Que SeRaw SeRaw has been closed for an extended break since mid-June. I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to take some time off to regenerate and reflect on plans for moving forward.
Spending time with my family and getting out in nature has been restorative during this period of uncertainty. Now more than ever, I remain committed to working to provide fresh, healing plant-based food to the community. I continue to believe eating whole plant foods can benefit everyone, and the more the better. Moving towards more plants and away from factory farming and industrial agriculture is also crucial for global environmental sustainability and health.
Que SeRaw SeRaw is small, but each of our daily choices and actions do tip the scale one way or the other, so eating a plant-based diet is one way to have a positive impact. I’m thrilled to share that I am making plans to reopen in September.
New Changes to Improve Safety and Sustainability
In light of the current COVID-19 health situation, I am making several changes to address additional safety considerations and to operate more efficiently:
Minimize potential exposure by limiting the number of employees on site
Reduce waste by featuring fewer menu items that include a varied selection of fresh, made-from-scratch items each day.
Also in response to the current COVID-19 considerations, we are shifting to a 100% online, pre-order system. Many of you have already pre-ordered from our Square store and are familiar with ordering and paying ahead.
When QSS re-opens, we will be open exclusively for customers to pick up orders Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between noon and 4pm, and we will no longer have items available for walk-in purchase. We will share our weekly menu plan ahead of time with the items planned for each day and the deadline for ordering. These changes will keep all of us safer by minimizing face-to-face contact. I do hope to find creative ways to stay engaged with customers through social media, virtual classes, etc.

I’m planning a “test” week later in August to try the new system and make sure things run smoothly. I will send out another e-mail when the online store is open for orders. Below is a preview of the test menu with dates. I hope you’ll consider ordering that week and I welcome feedback, suggestions and menu requests.
